Are there any requirements to be a mentee?

Have a good working computer or phone for weekly, 1 hour meetings through Zoom. That’s it.

What if November 1st-January 10th doesn’t work for me?

This will be the length of time of our first cohort, so if this is a busy time period for you, it is no problem. We host 5 cohorts a year, so feel free to join the next one on February 1st! Please occasionally check our website throughout the year to keep up with the dates of the subsequent cohorts.

Do I have to turn my camera on?

No it is not required:) But I’d love to see your beautiful face! :D

What if I cannot attend a meeting?

No worries! Meetings will be recorded and sent out to your email the next day so you can view sessions as you please.

Do I have to participate?

Participation is encouraged for YOUR benefit. However, you will not be penalized for not participating, but you can build more of a relationship with your host and develop connections with other mentees through participation. Each session, participation occurs in the form of an online platform called Mentimeter, where you scan a QR code on your phone or type a code into another tab on your computer to answer questions throughout the session. Answering questions is anonymous and lucky for you, there is no such thing as a stupid question or answer. :)

Does it cost anything to be a mentee?

Absolutely not. To become a mentee is 100% free, all you need to do is sign up. Cost is one of the many barriers that prevent students from getting access to the resources they need to pursue a career in healthcare. The purpose of this mentorship program is to mitigate these obstacles in order to even out the playing field by increasing fairness; allowing everyone to have access to more knowledge and opportunity.
